It has been awhile, I know! We are finally up at Torch Lake for the summer and it is the BEST! We have been here for a week, but just got the Internet hooked up today. A break from technology is always a bit refreshing. A lot has been happening such as Kevin's first Father's Day as a dad, and Dane's first boat ride. Plus all of the in between memories we have been creating... I do have new pictures as well, but I have not uploaded any yet. Hopefully I can do that in the next few days and give some visuals as to what our summer is looking like. Anyone can come visit, just give us a call!!!

"I Love Me Some Food"

This was a Kodak moment... We usually only feed Dane a bottle at night so Kevin can put him to sleep, but today I just felt like giving my bod a break. It was so cute to see him hold his bottle! I felt a little sad to see Dane looking and acting like a big baby...he has grown so fast. This weekend one of Kevin's buddies got married here in East Lansing. Dane went to the wedding with us and then Kevin's mom watched him so we could go to the reception. It was SO much fun. I have not cut loose like that in WELL over a year and boy did I need it! The dancing was awesome and socializing with ADULTS was a treat.
Kevin's last day of school is tomorrow and we will head Up North on Thursday for the summer...we cannot wait. I hate being land-locked in hot weather...heat and I do not get along unless I can get into water!
Hope y'all had a good weekend :)

look at my big-boy hair!

I have not written in a while because life has been so full! Which is a good thing. I like keeping busy... This past weekend Kevin and I spent most of Saturday going to various open houses for his graduating soccer players. Saturday night my sister-in-law and a friend of hers held a joint Birthday party for themselves. It was so much fun and I wish I could have stayed. I had to leave after about an hour to put Dane to sleep. It has been hard for me to find babysitters. Kevin's mom usually watches Dane if we have something to attend in the evening, but of course she was at the party. I asked another friend of mine and she could not do it and the Crites family could not as well. Shoot! Sunday Kevin had to go to graduation. This is a requirement of all the teachers, which I think is pretty annoying considering he teaches ELEMENTARY school. Anyway, Dane and I headed to Babies'r'Us to finally get a high chair for him. I haven't taken a picture of him in it, but it is pretty funny...he likes to sit there and watch my every move as I get his food ready! He is so observant! Speaking of, here is the latest on Dane:
1) He is in LOVE with Gatsby. He watches his every move, tries to touch him as he walks past, and even talks to him. Too bad Gatsby really has no interest in Dane. He will lick his hands, feet and face; however, it is a fleeting moment.
2) Dane will turn the pages of his board books. Kevin and I hold the pages down until it is time to turn the page and then let our finger release the next page. Dane takes his hand and turns it. I promise! It is TOO cute and something we need to get on videotape.
3) He continues to roll over in his sleep and either gets mad or falls asleep on his tummy. The problem is that his face is either against the bumper or face down against the mattress. So, out went the bumper and a whole new set of problems began...such as legs and arms sticking out of the slats. Seriously, this child is ALL boy. I know I have said it before, but he is a little acrobat!
4) Okay, this more of a mommy thing than a Dane thing, but he got a little haircut. I finally cut off his newborn hair. This has been an ongoing debate; to cut or not to cut? Lately it has been called "the comb over" or "the rooster tail." So I trimmed it off. It now is the same length as his newer baby hair. I think it looks pretty cute, but we will see what daddy thinks when he gets home from work - ha!
The pics I took this morning, after the hair trim. I call the sequence Curious, Happy, Overexcited! Enjoy!
