Sadly, I realize that I am still posting pictures taken from Christmas break, but what are you going to do? Some of them are just too cute to pass up and I just finished loading them all last night.

While we were up north we got a snowstorm, something we were hoping for! Dane got to go sledding for the first time, it was really cute to see him on the sled, he looked so little -

It may almost be mean to claim this pic as 'funny,' but I cannot help it. I just KNEW Dane would hate Santa...he hates all strangers and even some people he knows. He cries whenever I leave him at the Y childcare and if someone he does not know tries to hold him.

Anyway, Santa was no exception. We sat him in Santa's lap and were prepared to be QUICK with the camera. He screamed bloody murder and had his arms out for us to get him. Kevin, Libby and I were cracking up - but at the same time felt really bad...

Dane's 1st Birthday

Dane's Birthday party went really well. It was the first of five days in a row of family functions...so a bit overwhelming for him (and me). I guess that will always be the case with his December 23 birthday! He was really clingy at first with all of the people at the house and showering him with attention, but he was his usual self by the end of the party. He got lots of really nice things, books and toys mostly.

I was SO thankful that my sister came into town to help me. She was an absolute LIFESAVER. We baked the cake and cupcakes, did the goody bags and decorated for Dane's 'snow' theme. Not to mention all of the other last minute running around and Christmas shopping/wrapping!

Dane was a riot with his cupcake, he carefully touched it, then looked at the frosting on his hand. He slowly tasted it and then it was all over - he devoured it. His first taste of real sugar! It was very sweet (ha, ha...).

I'm going to be a big brother!

That's right, Dane is going to have a little sister in May! We are all really excited!

I have been very behind in posting and the blog is lacking in photos of Dane's first Birthday and Christmas...sad! I will get those up soon -
