glory

Yay, Glory! She is 17 lbs, 27 inches at nine months. This puts her around the 20th percentile. She is healthy and growing so fast! She still adores Dane and doesn't like to miss out on any action. She hates being confined (exersaucer, car seat, etc.) and wants to follow Dane everywhere. It's been a JOY watching her develop. Not to mention that she goes to sleep at 6:45 pm and wakes up around 6:30/7am. A blessing to Kev and I! We love her to pieces!

hockey on Valentine's Day

Dane did not like Sparty - AT ALL. He started to cry.

This year for Valentine's Day we went to an MSU hockey game. I love hockey. Always have, always will. Love the fast pace. Love the fighting. Anyway, it was fun and Dane was thrilled to be at a "hockey-ball" game. He even got pop (Sierra Mist) and chips in the hopes of his parents that he would sit still for more than 5 minutes. It worked until the bribery food was gone.

In other new news, Glory is successfully pulling herself up on furniture and crawling around like a mad woman, which is entirely cute and entertaining, however it also means she is getting into more trouble. Two little trouble-makers loose in our house!

Dane's second Birthday Party

The big boy!

posing in his jersey. he loves wearing a jersey and often insists on sleeping in one as well.

Basketball theme. He LOVES basketball. It was one of his first words.

I know, I know!

I know I have been MIA... SORRY!

It has been so busy here. I have started watching a lil' two month old twice a week (+ one Friday a month). Those days absolutely DRAIN me. By 8pm I am in bed with a huge mug of tea reading or watching a tv program before crashing by like 10pm. My evenings have not been as productive because I am so tired! Three kids ages 2, 8 mos. and 2 mos. is a lot to handle.

Anyway, I'm sad that I have not posted any pictures recently either. Dane and Glory are growing like crazy! Dane's language has finally taken off and he's a riot (as if I had any doubt about him being funny when he learned to put sentences together...). Everything is "yuck." A dab of food on Glory's bib is "yuck." Food he does not like is "yuck." You get the picture. He calls Glory, "bebe," which melts my heart. "Bebe ni-ni, Mama."

Glory has two teeth. They are so cute. She is crawling...all over! She is fast too, and determined. She is finally eating solids successfully and has just gone to eating three meals of solids in one day. I am starting to wean her as well.

That is it in a nutshell. I am actually trying to make this post while all three babies sleep, so I have to hurry. Hopefully more to come sooner rather than later!!!!

letdowns & new beginnings

bear with the Christmas background that is still gracing my blog, okay?

january can be such a letdown...or let me rephrase that, january IS a big letdown. coming home from up north - over a week of relaxation, of having kevin to help with the kids (and libby...and kamal, etc.), of actually reading a book for more than 5 minutes before falling asleep or being disturbed by kids... over a week of over indulging in food, food and more food. wait, let me admit, it's been WAY longer than that. i guess you can tell i have had a nice break.

now on to january... onto facing all the christmas crapola that still hung in the house when we got home... the needles of the tree crunching under our feet, the bags of opened presents needing to be put away, the list of thank you notes to write, and let's not forget the extra over indulging of food needing to be dealt with...

now onto january... without the glitter of excitement for christmas to come, the thrill of snow falling from the sky, the kid's joy of having daddy home everyday and still more presents to open...

now onto january... sigh.

i do not mean to be such a downer, but really, january is kinda a hard month for me. all this winter still to endure! on the other hand, i DID get all the christmas decor put away, and i am making dents in the bags of opened christmas presents.

i can look forward to a new me, of making and sticking to some new year resolutions. namely being:

1. health
2. organization
3. spirituality

i know they are broad, but this allows me to add many details. it also allows me the inability to fail...or so i hope. for instance under health; like the millions of other people across the world i am striving to lose weight. namely the preggo weight still lurking...all over my body. yes, glory is almost eight months old... anyway, i also hope to be more creative with the meal planning. not that it is unhealthy, but that i tend to make the same things time and time again. i know kev gets annoyed, can you blame him? even i'm annoyed!

organization is such a must. i'm so sick of looking for stuff. so sick of looking at the pit i call "the basement." it is SO disgusting. so much crap. so all over the place. so UNORGANIZED. it makes me insane. the garage is more of the same. my closet is more of the same.

spirituality... time to reflect. time to get in touch with god more often. time to be a more patient mom. time to focus again on doing good for others, for the community. i have always loved to help others and always felt confident that i was fulfilling that in some way - but once i had kids it seemed that all my time has been concentrated on them. which is very important, but i still want to give more back to society.

so that's it; stand up straight and face the holiday pounds, the shoddy basement, the mom in me who often too loudly says to dane, "what are you DOING!?!?"
